Glock pistol is a semi-automatic

The Glock pistol is a semi-automatic firearm that operates on a short-recoil, locked-breech system. Here's a step-by-step explanation of how a Glock works:

Loading: To load a Glock, you insert a loaded magazine into the grip until it locks into place. The magazine contains the ammunition that will be fed into the gun.

Chambering: Pulling back and releasing the slide (located on the top of the gun) allows the first round from the magazine to be loaded into the chamber. This action also cocks the gun's striker, preparing it for firing.

Firing: When you pull the trigger, the trigger bar moves upwards and engages the firing pin safety, releasing the firing pin. The striker hits the primer of the cartridge, igniting the gunpowder and creating a controlled explosion.

Unlocking: After the gun is fired, the slide and barrel are locked together due to the pressure from the explosion. As the bullet travels down the barrel, the slide moves slightly backward, unlocking the barrel from the slide.

Extracting: The expanding gases from the fired cartridge push the spent casing back against the breech face, and the extractor claw on the slide catches the rim of the casing. As the slide continues its rearward movement, the spent casing is pulled out of the chamber and ejected through the ejection port.

Re-cocking: As the slide moves back, the striker is re-cocked, preparing the gun for the next shot. The recoil spring located around the barrel and guide rod absorbs the energy from the fired round, and once the slide reaches its rearward position, the recoil spring pushes the slide forward again.

Chambering New Round: As the slide returns to its forward position, it strips a new round from the magazine and pushes it into the chamber, ready to fire again.

The cycle repeats each time you pull the trigger, allowing the Glock to fire multiple rounds as long as there is ammunition in the magazine. It's important to practice proper gun safety and handling when using any firearm, including a Glock, to ensure safe and responsible usage.
